About Us

Akinlade Oluwaseyi is an emerging public health researcher with a background in physiology and a specialization in population and reproductive health. She has built expertise in various areas of public health research. With years of experience in volunteering and community engagements since completing her degree in Physiology, she is able to bring both depth and interdisciplinary insight into the field of public health. She is actively involved in public health advocacy and community engagements working on sexual and reproductive health issues, menstrual hygiene and female genital mutilation in rural communities in Oyo State. She is also a passionate health educator and communicator and has engaged with the public through platforms such as radio and television to advocate for improved hygiene practices and maternal mental health. She continues to strive to advance knowledge and shape sustainable health interventions that make meaningful difference in Nigeria, Africa and globally. She is committed to becoming a transformative force in public health.

Roselle Lovell Smith is an experienced researcher and a dedicated advocate based in New York City. She has a background in political science and international relations from her time at Georgetown University, where she majored in International Politics. She concentrated in foreign policy and specialized, both in class and in the professional world, on refugee studies and forced migration. She comes to EQUAL with familiarity in the private sector as well as the non-profit and NGO spaces. Roselle hopes to use her varied experience (including a year as a baker) to further EQUAL's mission and impact.

Jiho is a marketing and communications professional with experience in digital marketing and content editing. She holds an MA in Promotional Media from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she researched media portrayals of older adults and the impact of advertising on mental health and well-being. Her work focuses on creating inclusive communication strategies, promoting positive and diverse narratives of aging, and bridging research with public engagement. Motivated by a commitment to global health equity, she joined the EQUAL Network to help researchers around the world connect, collaborate, and amplify valuable work that has yet to gain wider visibility. She hopes to support research that can make a meaningful contribution to health and well-being globally.
